L’Étang Noir takes its name from an enchanted black lake where my childhood days were spent fishing, exploring, and slipping into stillness. This deep, nostalgic scent opens with soft tobacco flower and unfolds into warm vanilla, anise, clove, and nutmeg — a rich, spiced blend that lingers with quiet intensity.

"This was my first fragrance from Maison Louis Marie. I walked into a storefront that carried the whole house & L'etang Noir was the one I kept coming back to smell. I didn't buy it right away, in fact I waited a month-- but that whole month I was thinking about L'etang Noir. It's an intimately sweet scent, psychologically narcotic. I'm not sure how it can be both quiet yet intense, soft yet bold. It feels very pure & unabashed. It's just such an interesting scent to me! There's no experience or big memory that I can tie to it like most fragrances I've experienced but it brings me a lot of comfort."

Is the fragrance considered unisex
All of our scents are unisex and designed to be enjoyed by everyone!
I love L’Etang Noir! When will the perfume version come out? Having a spray version would be divine !
Sadly we have no plans to offer it in an Eau de Parfum version next year but maybe in the years to come....
